The Uttar Pradesh government has committed to putting up dialysis and CT scan facilities in all 75 districts shortly in order to improve health care infrastructure and medical services across the state. In the next years, the state government plans to raise the number of Newborn Stabilization Units (NBSU), Special Newborn Care Units (SNCU), and First Referral Units from 180, 86, and 192 to 353, 99, and 250, respectively.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has made health one of his top priorities, and he has urged health officials to leave no stone unturned in ensuring that people have access to high-quality healthcare.
Uttar Pradesh Expands Healthcare Coverage to 75 Districts
In a recent presentation to the Yogi 2.0 Cabinet, the Health Department stated that one of its top targets would be to equalize the doctor-to-nurse ratio in two years by creating more nurse positions. Doctors currently outnumber nurses in the state, with the latter's sanctioned positions being half those of doctors. Doctors and nurses have been approved for 19,011 and 9,569 positions, respectively.
In the next two years, the UP government would provide menstrual hygiene kits to teenage girls through schools and Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA).
Furthermore, the government will construct world-class hospitals along international and interstate borders so that people on both sides can benefit. In addition, the government aims to construct seven 50-bed hospitals in the districts of Lucknow, Gorakhpur, and Ghaziabad, as well as 25 primary health centers in Varanasi, Ghazipur, Meerut, and Mirzapur, and 23 community health centers in Gorakhpur, Pratapgarh, and Ghazipur.
In addition, the Ayushman Bharat Scheme aims to give health insurance coverage to auto drivers, health sakhis, and Anganwadi employees. The government will gather information from the Women's Welfare Department, the Department of Urban Development, and the Department of Transportation regarding the intended beneficiary workers.
